How shadowing with us works
Shadowing with us is a simple 3 step process. Take the first step to shadow now!
Sign up for a slot on the “Shadow Now” page, and complete the pre-shadowing assignments sent to your email.
Signup
Attend your shadowing appointment. Logistic details will be sent to your email around 1 week before appointment date.
Shadow
Complete post-shadowing requirements sent to your email, and write the physician a thank you note.

A UMMC badge is required to volunteer for some opportunities but not all. The SignUpGenius will mention the requirements to shadow for that location.

Once you have completed all your pre-shadowing assignments, you will receive an email with logistic information around 1 week before your shadowing appointment.

Shadowees must meet the requirements listed on the SignUpGenius in order to sign up for an appointment. If a sign up requires students to, for example, have a UMMC volunteer badge. You must submit proof that you meet the shadowing requirement to ShaDO-MD in the window specified on SignUpGenius. Failure to do so results in the deletion of your shadowing slot.
Shadowees must also complete all pre-shadowing assignments before their appointment. The details and deadlines for these assignments will be emailed to you after you sign up and confirm that you meet the shadowing requirements. Failure to complete the pre-shadowing material on time will result in the deletion of your slot.
